Reach visitors on an intellectual and emotional level.

Here’s how I can help:

Curation & Exhibition Development

Curating is more than just picking pretty things. Objects, images, text & environment combine to create compelling visitor experiences — no matter the topic. From object and image research and selection, to writing and editing, let me help you reach your audience on an intellectual and emotional level.

Project Management

Great exhibitions start with great teams. I can help you build a team of designers, curators, and researchers. But you also need a hands-on leader to see a project through. I can lead your team from concept through opening day.

Publications Management

I have managed more than 13 exhibition catalogs and related publications from concept through publication. Let me help you put together a product that will tell the story of your exhibition or collection and be a hit in your museum shop. I can help you pitch a project to a co-publisher and find the right authors and graphic designers to create a product that will outlive your exhibition. I have expertise in image management, rights and reproductions, editing, and proof-reading.

Interpretation & Script Development

The most important part of any exhibition script is telling a compelling story that you can read standing up! I can take your content, no matter how obscure, and bring it to a place where your audience will not only understand the ins and outs, but care about what they’ve learned.

Digital Content

Now more than ever, museums rely on the web to reach their audience. I’m skilled at writing, editing, and producing digital content for the web — from illustrated stories, to social media engagement, to scripts for YouTube.

Editing

Does your museum need help with copy-editing or proof-reading content? I have edited all sorts of museum publications, from exhibition catalogs to newsletters, journals, websites, calendars, press releases, and more. I know the importance of a consistent voice across all public-facing materials. And I know the Chicago Manual backwards and forwards. In addition to specific editing or proof-reading jobs, I can develop a museum-wide style sheet to make editing easier on your team.
